Spring Break 2008

March 28th was both Trin's last day of school and the last day of work before Justin's holiday. They both go back tomorrow morning (April 7th), so we'll say spring break started March 29th.

Saturday, March 29th we were supposed to go to the in-law's for Shaun (Justin's brother)'s birthday party. That was cancelled because we were expecting a blizzard (which didn't really happen), so we stayed home. We went for a little walk around town and checked out a few things. We pretty much hung out at home all day.

Sunday, March 30th we were sick with colds so we didn't end up going to church. We just hung around home all day and relaxed.

Monday, March 31st we didn't do much either. We had booked a hotel room for Wednesday and Thursday, so we decided just to stay home until then. We pretty much hung out at home (again) and relaxed.

Tuesday, April 1st was new movie day. We went and rented Alvin and the Chipmunks and watched that. It was a very cute show and everyone here liked it. We didn't do much else, just hung out and relaxed here at home.

Wednesday, April 2nd was the day we were going to the hotel. In the morning, I did some cleaning and laundry and whatever else needed to be done around the house. We left home at about 12:45 and headed to the gas station/movie store to bring movies back and fill the car up. There, we realized that Justin forgot his wallet at home, so I had to run home and get it. That was an adventure lol (I am SOO out of shape). Before heading to the hotel, we went to the store to pick up some last minute items. We got to the hotel at about 3pm (check in time) and got to our room. We unpacked our stuff and watched a bit of TV before heading to the pool. We swam for a bit and then went back to our room to get out of our bathing suits. We then went to the in-hotel restaurant for some dinner (Justin got the buffet and we all shared, plus had our own meals), so suffice to say, we were all stuffed to the brim lol. We got back to our room and got ready for bed. Isaac just would NOT sleep in his playpen so I put cartoons on the TV and he ended up falling asleep on the floor (which was NOT soft at all). He ended up sleeping there all night.

Thursday, April 3rd we woke up at about 7:30 (well, me and the kids did, Justin slept until 9am). We headed to the pool as soon as everyone was up and ready. We spent some time there, until Justin and I were tired (of course the kids were all still having fun) and then went back to our hotel room. We all had a little something to eat and we headed for some fun at the mall. We spent a bit window shopping, ate at McDonald's in Walmart and let the kids play in the play area for a bit (while Isaac had a short nap which turned out to be a BIG mistake, you'll see later), then we headed back to our hotel room. We didn't stay there long, we went back to the pool for a few hours (Trinity had fun playing with this little boy). We got back to our hotel room at about 8pm and got into jammies and watched some TV. Isaac ended up falling asleep on the floor again and was there for a while. Then he woke up crying, so we put him in bed with us (we NEVER let him sleep with us), he fell asleep for maybe half an hour and was up ready to play. Of course we all wanted to sleep. Isaac would NOT let that happen, he wanted on the bed so he'd cry. We didn't want him on the bed because the night before he fell off and bonked his nose on the floor and it started bleeding. Anyways, he would NOT go to sleep, no matter what we did. I even put cartoons on for him. At about 1am, Justin decided to take him for a ride in the car (as we were both getting stressed and frustrated and we didn't want to bother the other people in the hotel). So, while he did that I slept. He says he got back to the hotel room at about 3am and Isaac STILL hadn't gone to sleep. He took him to McDonald's and got him some food and then came back and they had a bath. As soon as they were done, Isaac was at the door screaming and wanting out. So, then it was my time to keep him company. He would be happy and then crying, happy and then crying and he wouldn't stop. So, we decided to pack up our stuff and leave (he'd call in the morning and let them know what happened and they'd take money from his credit card (they had the information). FINALLY, at 4:30am when everything was packed and ready to go, guess who fell asleep?.............ISAAC!!! We figured we were ready anyways, and since we didn't get any sleep we wouldn't be ready to go by 11am (check out time), so we went home. We got here at about 5:30 and all went back to bed. I slept until 10am and Isaac slept until about noon.

Friday, April 4th was a laid back day since our night was stressful. We didn't want Isaac having a nap so we kept him up. He ended up falling asleep at the dinner table (at 5:30pm) and had a nap until 7pm. All 3 kids went to bed at about 9pm and we were in bed by 10:30pm.

Saturday, April 5th we stayed home and hung out. Shannon came over for a short visit in the afternoon. We did some stuff outside. We set the swing up on the deck and put the Trampoline together. Then, we rested the afternoon/evening. Justin and I watched a movie that night and then went to bed.

Sunday, April 6th (today) we went to church in the morning. There was a lunch afterwards, so we went to that. Came home, put Isaac down for a nap and the girls in the bath. I went to the store to get some milk, brought our movie back and now here I am.

I'm sad but happy spring break is finally over. Now, we can settle back into some kind of a routine at least.
