My mom's birthday party

We went to my mom's 50th birthday party yesterday. We got there at about 2:30ish, we would have been there sooner but the way we went had major construction and we were stuck in it for at least 30 - 45 minutes. My mom lives about 1 1/2 hours away, so it was a LONG drive (I ended up driving there and dh drove back, to his mom's house). It was pretty frustruating!

We got there and we were the second ones to arrive. My brother Dominic, his wife Joelle, and their 2 children (one whom is my new neice) were there. Isaac had fallen asleep in the car and was still sleeping when I carried him out to the house, so I only got a glimpse of my sleeping 2 week old neice and she was SO tiny and SO cute (only 6lbs. 14oz. at birth). I tried putting Isaac on the bed to sleep but he immediately woke up and wanted to go play. We found some toys for the kids so they had something to do.

I got to have some holding time with my neice (when I could peel her out of my mom's hands LOL). She is soooo tiny, the only baby of mine that was ever that tiny was Trinity (born at 4lbs. 10oz.). People starting arriving, my mom was expecting around 50 people (and we probably had close to that). So, between holding my neice and holding my nephew, I DEFINATELY got my baby fix Oh and my nephew was smiling at me and "talking" to me, it was SOOOO CUTE!!

We visited with some family, my uncle and his friend were out from another province (we dont see him very often), so it was nice to see him out. I mostly stayed in the house and visited with my SIL's and the babies though.

It was a nice time. It rained a little bit but my mom had a few tents set up, so there was some shelter.

We dont go there very often because its SOO far away! The last time we were there was 2 years ago (Aug 19, the day b4 Isaac was born) for her backyard wedding. She has never been to our house (or our old house) so I'm going to invite her over one day, so she can come see the place. My SIL's also said they'd like to come visit one day, since they are on maternity leave.

I'm happy we went (not like we werent going to go) because it was nice seeing all my family members again (it had been a few months).

God Bless,
Jackie
