August 7th, 2008

This was a sad day for our family as we lost a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

My father-in-law, Justin's dad, passed away August 7th at about 12:15pm. His family and a few close friends were there with him when he went to be with Jesus. He was in a coma and had NO pain, he had a very peaceful passing, which is something he had prayed for.

His funeral was Thursday, August 14th at 2:00pm at our home church. The whole church was FULL of people who had known him and had been close to him!

Justin wrote him a beautiful poem and read it at the funeral. I wanted to share.

My Dearest Dad

My dad had a heart warmer than the warmest hug.
His spirit was brighter than the brightest star.
The smile on his face brought out everyone’s smile.
His love was abundant and spread both near and far.

I will never forget the way you were.
You had such compassion and the most heartfelt embrace.
You taught me to love and you taught me to care.
You gave me your hairline, and even your face.

You brought me to Jesus and for that I can rejoice.
I have always called you my hero, even if you never knew.
There’s no one in life I would rather be like,
Than the most wonderful man I’ve ever known, which is you.

And even though we are at your funeral
I can remember and always be glad.
That I was blessed enough by God to have you,
As my most loving, caring, and dearest dad.

We all loved him SOO much and he'll be missed!! It's a comfort to know we'll see him again someday, when we reunite with him in Heaven!

God Bless,
Jackie
